What is a Multilayer PCB?

A multilayer PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is a type of circuit board that consists of more than two layers of conductive material.   • Etching: The copper on the surface is then etched away to form the necessary electrical pathways.

  • Copper Plating: Plating the Holes: After drilling, the holes are plated with copper to establish electrical connections between layers. This process involves electroplating to coat the inner walls of the drilled holes with copper.

  • Solder Mask :A layer of solder mask (typically green) is applied to protect the copper traces from corrosion and to prevent short circuits during soldering. UV Exposure and Development: The solder mask is exposed to UV light to define the areas that will not be covered by solder mask, such as pads and vias.

  • Silkscreen Printing:Component labels, logos, and other markings are printed on the PCB using a silk-screen printing process. This layer is typically white or other colors.

  • Final Etching and Cleaning: Etching Finalization: Any remaining unwanted copper is etched off. Cleaning: The board is thoroughly cleaned to remove any residual chemicals, dust, or impurities.

  • Testing: 100% open&short circuit test

  • FQC:A final visual inspection is conducted to ensure that the PCB meets all design specifications and quality standards.
